Biot Emerger
by Kuba Chruszczewski
Biot is such a characteristic radius of the aileron or rudder. It can be found on the narrower side of the feather. It has the shape of an elongated triangle, on one edge it has a kind of comb. Skillfully wound allows you to build a very interesting imitation of a segmented insect abdomen. Most often biots are used to build nymphs and dry flies. Today I propose an imitation of a small autumn mayfly in the last stage of transformation. The thorax is still below the surface, but you can already see above the water the outstretched wings. Here is the Biot Emerger in a few steps:
1.In the vise a lightweight, bent hook.To the shaft I tied a biot.

2.I wind the segmented trunk.

3.I tie Wings from cdc feathers, 2-3 feathers per side.

4.I pre-tie with leading thread so that they spread out in a "V" shape.

5.With a thread I twist the dubbing of a hare's ear.

6.I dubbed before, after and between the wings.

7.I cut the wings to the desired shape.

8.This is how the finished emerger looks from above.
